My story — where I come from
My grandparents — where I come from.
I come from people who believed in showing up for their community. That value shaped everything I've done since. Irwin L. Johnson is the founder of Johnson Benefits Group and a licensed New York insurance agent (license #1722123). He holds a B.S. in Human Services from Metropolitan College of New York and a Master's in Public Administration. Before insurance, Irwin built his career in social services and community work: Program Director of a transitional family shelter; Director of Social Services / Supervisor with the NYC Department of Homeless Services; Outreach Manager connecting underserved neighborhoods to health resources; and 10+ years of community advocacy in Upper Manhattan, including NYCHA's Cooper Houses. Today he brings that same community-first approach to Medicare — out in the five boroughs at enrollment events, pharmacies, and neighborhood venues, helping New Yorkers understand their options in plain language, with no pressure and no jargon.
